This is why otherwise normal people have 8 printers. At the end of the print, it'll cut off its outgoing filament so you'll end with a short piece of waste (length depending on direct drive vs bowden). Starting a print using their octoprint plugin is fairly easy, it has you clear any filament out of its output path, disconnect the printer end of the outgoing PTFE tube (this makes it easier to load into your extruder), then prompts you to feed in specific colors to specific inputs (easier to load with the cover on) on the unit, then it'll take a moment to make the initial filament (depends on direct drive vs bowden for how long this take as that affects how much it needs to make), then you feed that filament into your extruder to just even with the gear, snap the outgoing PTFE tube into place and tell it to start. Once its setup, it seems to work great, no reliability concerns yet. One of my acquaintances is borrowing it to bootstrap a print on demand service at his boardgame store, and once he got a better retaining clip for the outgoing PTFE tube he was able to really dial in his calibration and has been quite happy with the output results, and any issues with print quality at this point is due to his slicer settings, not the palette (he needs to tweak his retraction to reduce some stringing, i think).

I own a Palette 2 Pro that's been upgraded to a 2S Pro (fairly easy to install the upgrade kit).

Anyone have experience with the Palette 2S? The MMU2S on my Prusa is just too flaky and unreliable and I want something that doesn't require as much human interaction.
